ABRSM
ABRSM EXAMS and ASSESSMENTS FOR 2015 will take place on Monday 23rd May at the Kilkenny Education Centre.
The Violin Studio of Carl Rochford offers music practical exams with the A.B.R.S.M Grades (1-8) and all exams take place at the Kilkenny Violin Studio ABRSM Examination Centre. Piano accompaniment for all exams is also provided by the studio. These exams normally take place at the studio in May/June of each year.
- We only do ABRSM Graded music exams. This board is internationally recognised and accredited by OFQUAL.
- All ABRSM exams take place at The Violin Studio of Carl Rochford ABRSM Examination Centre annually.
- The Studio provides the venue, piano accompanist, rehearsals with accompanist, and exam steward for all exams for all pupils.
- Exam students may not sit exams at other ABRSM Centres.
- ABRSM Exam dates are decided on by the ABRSM. The onus is entirely on the candidate to ensure their availability for their exam. Parents and exam candidates are given plenty of notice for all exam appointments. Missed exam appointments cannot be rescheduled or transfered.
- Exam entries and levels entered for, are entirely at the discretion of the teacher. Pupils are entered for exams when they are ready for them.
This Exam Board is recognised throughout the world and is accredited by OFQUAL.
Trinity College London
These Exams take place in May in Cork
Post Grade 8 Students often undertake Trinity's Performance diplomas. These Diplomas are universally recognised as professional qualifications. These diplomas come at 2 levels. Each year, the Studio has placement for 2 candidates for these Diplomas.
ATCL/AGSMD - Comparable in standard to the completion of the first year of a music degree with violin performance as a major subject.
LTCL/LGSMD - Comparable in standard to the completion of a music degree from a music degree with performance as a major subject.
